Three of my Chinese students came to Washington, DC to see the Inauguration.  Here is one student's take on the moment:

"I was so disappointed to see the 'UGLY' side of America. I participated the inauguration this morning, and totally shocked by those people around me. This group of people are so mean. We should honor and respect the rights and dignity of all people, but these people are so disrespectful to even their president Obama who contributed so many for this country!! They keep saying bad words to Obama, Michelle and Hillary, how can people being so CRAZY?? If your people do not understand what is 'REPECT' and GRATEFUL', how can you make this country great agin?"

The local newspaper is posted everyday in a public place for everyone to read.  This affords even the poorest people to have access to the news.  People stand in line, read the paper and then move on.
